Faster Incorporated
A Worldwide Leader in Couplings Since 1951

Employees: 14 (In the Maumee, Ohio location)
Founded in: 1951
Headquarters in: Rivolta D’Dadda, Italy

On September 7th, 2007 Ted Frost of Faster Inc. approached Heather Goldberg and the GRS team with an opening for a Sales & Marketing Manager. Faster Inc. is a worldwide leader in the hydraulic couplings field and they were in need of another manager due to rapid growth within the market. The person they were looking for would be responsible for individuals within the organization and would be required to formulate budgets and forecasts. Right away GRS knew they had some work to do, but this was not the first time working with Faster Inc. About 6 months prior, Faster approached GRS because they had a Sales Account Manager opening in Northern Ohio. That search was solved fairly quickly and smoothly so Frost knew he could trust GRS with this search. In the end, this search for a Sales & Marketing Manager, like the first search, was successful.

Heather was excited to work with Ted again as he is very knowledgeable about the industry and had confidence with GRS’s abilities. Heather had a good idea of what Ted Frost was looking for in a person, being that she worked with the company only 6 months previous. This being the case, Heather immediately began searching the database for the personnel that matched up with the requirements Frost had mentioned in their initial conversation. Being a higher level position, and one in which there were many stipulations, the search took some time to find the right person for the job. Since Faster had never had a Sales and Marketing Manager, they had to make sure that they hired someone who was a team player and someone who had the potential to grow within their company. Although it was not easy, Heather and the GRS team found the right person for the job. A couple months after the initial conversation, Heather placed Matt Mulder at Faster Inc. as the new Sales & Marketing Manager.

"GRS did a great job,
worked with us, and
found great candidates."
-- Ted Frost
Ted Frost had never used a recruiter prior to the search for a Sales Account Manager, and after that search wasn’t hesitant to use GRS again. With regards to the candidates that GRS presented, Frost said that "One or two stood out, but Mulder had experience in related industries and good previous experiences with previous companies." Frost realized since they have never had a position like that before, it was important to get a qualified individual. Frost added, "GRS did a great job, worked with us, and found great candidates. We couldn’t have found Matt without GRS."

"I now have the opportunity
to impact the direction
of a company."
-- Matt Mulder
When Matt Mulder was contacted by Heather Goldberg, he was with an automation manufacturer, and not really looking for a new opportunity. Matt had spoken to Heather in the past and he felt comfortable with her abilities to present him with new and exciting opportunities. After hearing a little bit about the position with Faster, Matt agreed to interview. Matt fit the position as he had about 15 years of sales management experience where he consistently outperformed the rest. In the past, Matt had worked for larger companies, and was excited about the idea of working for a smaller company, like Faster. "I now have the opportunity to impact the direction of a company. With a smaller company, they can afford to be more creative and it is easier to present ideas." Things have been going so well for Matt that he continues to move up throughout the organization. Mulder added "I now have the opportunity to take over primary responsibility."

Since being employed at Faster Inc., Matt has made quite an impact. He feels that by working for a smaller company, he has the ability to be more creative and to present his ideas to the company. Matt has been at Faster for some time now and has made changes already. He was hired as a Sales and Marketing Manager but his role has expanded to the Vice President of North America. He has also joined the Board of Directors where he is becoming more involved with the company each day.

**Faster opened its doors in 1951 and began in the world of automotive racing. Headquartered in Italy, Faster eventually built an office in Maumee, Ohio in 1992. Since then, Faster has continued to grow and they have expanded their product offering into new markets. This location is well established and focuses on sales, marketing, technical support and distribution. Their objective is to be the North American leader in the distribution of quick release couplings for hydraulic applications through customer satisfaction, continued engagement to keep and improve quality standards, personnel satisfaction, and environmental respect.
